It's kind of hard from going from this really emotional, sensitive, vulnerable, submissive person to someone who has to toughen up, have a stronger back bone & have to hold their guard up because of the things they've been through & pain they've endured from others. But as soon as you let your guard down & become a little too laxed, that's when sh*t gets f*cked up again. You try to have hope & give certain people a chance & try to trust them & believe the words they say to you because you would hate to have a negative mindstate. Well....if your intuition senses the dishonesty & deceit, that's what you should most likely roll with. My heart never fails me although my mind may play tricks on me at times, I never give up on my heart & what it tells me. Sometimes, I'm a little hard-headed & go against my will because my heart & my feelings may clash. But I'm human; I make mistakes. But these mistakes put me in bad positions & seem to always sitting somewhere with my feelings hurt. Some people wonder when their time will come. The day when they can trust someone & share something special. I'm one of those people. I'm not desperate for it, but it would be something that would be nice to share. & if you have that already, hold on to it. & remember anything worth having is worth fighting for. Being patient, keeping positive is the best advice I can give to myself. & don't get me wrong, I'm Happy. Its just a point I'm trying to get across about certain ways a person can feel.

Another thing (totally off subject),
For some reason, its cold as hell in NY right now!! & its been so nice!! :(
I'm on the subway writing this because I'd hate to lose my train of thought.

Lately,
There's been a lot on my mind more than usual, if you can even believe that, due to the changes I'm going through in life. Friends become strangers, Family becomes enemies, crushes get crushed. ouch!! But, in the end I keep my focus & my mind set of what I was put on this earth to do. So all that other stuff that's going on...doesn't even matter at all to me.

Anyway,
Everyday my Aunt sends me a "Scripture of the Day" or "Positive Thought of the Day" just because & its mainly an email blast to family & friends. Usually I'm too busy to read it or I'm just being lazy & simply don't want to scroll over to the lit up icon on my Blackberry to go to the unread email. But yesterday, the title of this one particular "Positive Thought of the Day" caught my eye..."Speak at the Right Time." I even read it outloud to my boss because I had just received it as I walked in his office. It read:

"Where there is Honesty there is Flexibility. When someone challenges the truth of what we are saying we generally tend to argue and prove our point in order to prove ourselves right. When we argue in this way, it shows our own stubbornness and doesn't help in any way to reveal the truth. Where silence doesn't help in revealing the truth, arguement never will because the other person is not in a position to listen to us at that moment. We need to realize the fact that when the other person is not able to recognize the truth, our arguing will not help in any way. When the truth is with us we need not argue but we only need to wait for the right opportunity to tell what we have to say. When we try to tell when the other person is not in a position to listen to us, it only reveals our lack of flexibility."

When its all said & done. . . .
Life is about compromise & being understanding. We all want to be right all the time but we can't. If we take time to LISTEN & be Honest, there will be nothing but good outcomes.

Its been over a month since I've gotten this new Blackberry because my old one was acting like it had AIDS. =( & I was sad because I lost some important notes/memos that suddenly disappeared from my phone after I tried to sync my info to Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Then last week I tried to put music on my Blackberry & the *shiet* messed up my memory card (no songs, no pics, nada anymore)!!

My Mother && I's Relationship.

For all my Life as long as I can remember, its been just me & my Mom.
She has showed & taught me what unconditional Love truely is.
I'm so blessed to have such an amazing woman, Best Friend, Mother, Confidant all in One.

Tonight, like any other night, my Mother & I were having a conversation about some things & I suggested that I go back to LA to be with her because of some issues that had risen. She told me "NO! If any one of us are going to follow our dream, it should be YOU. You are already well on your way & I can't have you come back here."
If I had ever doubted myself, my Mother was always there to reassure me of my confidence & determination to become successful. I never gave up & never wanted to, just when I become too worried about certain things I do become a little discouraged. But somehow I always find strength within my Mother & she helps me hold my head high.

As I write this, my eyes are filled with tears of happiness because I'm not only progressing in Life & pursuing my Dreams for myself but for my Mother because she's showed me that I can do anything in my Life if I put my mind to it. She taught me to never settle for less & to always be the Best.

Its kind of hard to be better than the Best when the Best is your Mother.
As long as I try my hardest & I'm happy,
I know she will be too.

So last week I went to the West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn (shout out to the WestIndian peeps in my Fam!!) it was AWESOME!! I Loved seeing all those people out celebrating their culture, having fun & living life with no worries as we should everyday. =]

I finally made it to NY on Wednesday & what can I say I LOVE it so far. These pics are from my trip to Manhattan, Times Square yesterday, even though I'm living in Queens. The picture quality is just ok due to the fact I'm using my Blackberry because I need a new digital camera but that will be bought this weekend. I'm enjoying myself very much & I've already met a lot of people at school & some in the city (that I already knew) so thats making my stay here even better. I can't believe how fast, let alone how fast this year has gone by! Time flies-when you're productive! ;] Ok, ok, when you're having fun too but of course being productive is the best way to consume your time. In 3 days, I will be moved to New York & continuing my path of productivity. I'm so excited to be in a new environment, meet new people & network. Although New York is not a "new" place for me since my Fam is from there & I have frequently visited when I was younger, it will be a different experience now because I am of age to do a lot of exciting things. Another new thing is that I'll be in Queens & I'm not familiar with the area at all. But I'm not afraid to explore it & become greatly acquainted with it.

Remember 2 things:
1. PRODUCTIVITY IS NEVER AN ACCIDENT. IT IS ALWAYS THE RESULT OF A COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE, INTELLIGENT PLANNING AND FOCUSED EFFORT.

What is going on???

As we all know it's been a crazy week this past week with lots of different issues going on. First issue I must definitely had to address was the Steve McNair R.I.P. issue. Cheating on his wife with some 20-year old waitress he had been dealing with, shoots and kills him then turns the gun on herself. Now if this isn't crazy, I don't know what is. Men, if you're unhappy in your relationship let alone marriage, do NOT cheat! Simply remove yourself from the situation! Lying and cheating is definitely not the answer! Look at what happens when you lie and cheat not only does it end up hurting you but the ones that love you get hurt.

Loon converting to MUSLIM?? I mean hey, I don't and won't discriminate but it's just a look I definitely was not expecting to see! Wow.

Another big event that went on this past week was the Memorial Service for Michael Jackson, R.I.P. We all know the time comes sooner or later, but it was sooner than expected for sure. This man is the most respected, admired, talented artist that has EVER lived and NO ONE will ever compare. (By the way, it cost Los Angeles a reported $1.4 Million dollars for the service.)

It was a sad day in the world when we found out the news about Mr. Jackson. I know a lot of people, including myself & my family-especially my mother, were hurt by the news. At first I couldn't believe it. But, when I heard Cardiac Arrest I instantly knew it couldn't be good. My mom had me grow up on listening to Jackson 5 & Michael Jackson albums. My mom (middle of 5) & her brothers & sisters used to think they were the Jackson 5 singing & dancing trying to do all the moves.

My prayers & condolences go out to the family & of course all of his fans worldwide. He was an International Mogul & there will NEVER be another Like him.

Someone who I thought was my friend in one point in time in my life, did something exactly like this. That person has been axed out of my life. Like the Lord says "You must Forgive." I forgive them, but I will never forget. I have just kept it pushing and have not allowed myself to encounter these type of people or at least pin-point them out early and left it at that. Next.

Understand this: YOU DO NOT HAVE FRIENDS PEOPLE!! You either have "Homies"-people you "kick it" with on an occasional basis and talk to on an occasional basis, Associates-people you see in passing or always at a certain place and you associate those people from there (ex: school, clubs, job), Business Partners/Associates-people you work with as in your career or that play a part in a skill your trying to perfect as a whole team and then there's Family-people who are your blood or people who have NEVER done you wrong, NEVER turn their back on you, people who keep it REAL with you 100% of the time. It's just that simple. Please distinguish these people in your lives. It makes it a lot easier on you and you won't care about a lot of the "BS" that's going on with you or these people because they will know their place!! Have a great day. =]

This past Saturday I attended a Fashion show with The Renaissance Team (Me-Publicist, Lorenzo-Stylist, Kirstin & Evan-Management, ShawnChrystopher-Recording Artist, RKyleLynn-Shawn's fiance). Lorenzo, who is my dear friend & partner in crime (<3 yoouu mucho!!) previously worked at JoyRich some years ago & I believe that's how we officially met before we realized we went to Cal State Northridge together!! But anyways, he is still closely in touch with the JoyRich team & he invited myself & the other members of The Renaissance Team to attend the Fashion show. You knew the job was dangerous when you took it!! Deal with the pressures!! Now he's "un-retiring." Idk, I'm a Cudi fan...but I'm OFF him for a while... =/ smh.

I've always respected && enjoyed Q-Tip's music but recently I made a Twitter (blaaaah!! Twitter.com/iLoveElleB) && one of the first people I started to follow, besides Diddy because he's the KING of Twitter!!, was Q-Tip. He && a friend were conversing about people who are negative && how people are so quick to tell you, you cant do something. I followed the conversation && then what struck me the most was what he said next:

Is that not one of the greatest, most inspiring, revolutionary quotes you've ever heard?!!? Just based on a regular conversation of people telling us we are not worthy or capable of doing something!! YES YOU CAN!! He then went on to talk about his son who has CP (Cerebral Palsy-a condition marked by impaired muscle coordination and/or other disabilities, typically caused by damage to the brain before or at birth) && how he often says "I can't do this" because of his disability. Q-Tip shared that he tells him HE CAN disability or not!! He's wonderful. =] && he's a great role model. I have gained so much more respect for him + he makes EXCELLENT music!! If you do not have his latest album "The Renaissance" you should get it!! (2 Thumbs UP!!)

This Chris Brown & Rihanna situation is completely out of hand.....it doesn't make any sense. First off, NO! A man should not put his hands on any woman. But we don't even know the whole story & we probably never will. (Besides the fact that he beat the dog-sh*t out of her.) As far as I'm concerned, she could've initiated the fight and that's when he went ballistic on her. He didn't have to beat her and make violent threats saying, "I'm going to beat the **** out of you when we get home. You wait and see." or "....I'm going to kill you." Not necessary. But just like all humans (did anyone forget Chris Brown is a human being?), we all make mistakes and a lot of us act upon things before thinking or elaborating on the consequences there after. Yes, he was wrong. But I feel he has made a mistake and will have to suffer the consequences and he did that to himself by not thinking before he reacted. And I know a lot of girls/women are saying "She's stupid for getting back with him" and "blah, blah all this." Stay out that woman's business!! If she wants to be with Chris Brown, she's going to be with Chris Brown!! I'm pretty sure many of the women who said that went back to some "man" whose done them wrong or knocked them upside their head a couple times and still with him!! Moral of the story: Don't judge others especially if you don't know the whole situation and especially if you don't even have your own life situations together. Thank You!! =)

I'm going to try and publish more blog posts I promise!! I always have so many things going on and I always find myself writing in my Blackberry more than I do on my own Blog!! Anyway, back to what's on my mind...recently I was contacted by a friend, who also happens to be signed to Universal Records, and he asked me to be apart of his team. :) I was more than enthralled of course because I not only get to do what I want to and what I'm aspiring to become but I am also representing one of the brightest most talented upcoming ARTIST in the music game. I haven't posted anything in a few weeks due to my busy schedule & a all in general hiatus to different things. It's sad that when I do come back to make a post, it's about one of my friends passing away...it just came so unexpected, out of nowhere. That night when he died, I was going through some things already thinking I couldn't handle life, said to myself I was stressed & was tired of life throwing all this BS at me. At that one moment I forgot about life & what it really means & why we should cherish every moment we have of it. I became so selfish worrying about the nonsense in my life & the way people had been treating me recently...no, it's not fair that I had been treated that way but you live & you learn from different things & learn to let go & move on & better yourself. All Diron wanted to do was play basketball & probably didn't care about anything else because that's what he was determined to do. I remember when I would stay at the dorms with him & Chris & (Laughing) I would get so mad at Diron for bouncing the basketball around the damn dorm all nite & all day. He would wake up & go to sleep with that ball!! & I remember one morning when I woke up, I heard him get up too & what did he do? Bounce that freakin' basketball. I said to myself "You can't even be mad at him. That's what he loves." So every time after that, I'd put the pillow over my head when I'd hear him in the other room bouncing the ball...(sorry guys I got kinda carried away with story...) well Diron, this is for you..from "LBoogie" (that's what he called me.) I Love You & watch over your loved ones & help them realize you are in a better place....see you one day.

First off,

Welcome to Lolliewood. It is with my deepest gratitude that I invite you all to my world. I created this blog about a week ago but hadn't posted anything yet because I wanted to find the perfect topic to "blog" about. The most appropriate topic now being, the Inauguration.

Today history was made & this will definitely be a day never forgotten. For all of the years that Blacks fought to gain equality & respect, we have finally overcome all of that at the highest level we could possibly imagine; electing a Black man as President. We have conquered the greatest position of all, power of the United States. There's a lot of work that needs to be done & of course a lot of pressure on Obama so, with patience, we must take this in stride & remember that he is going to make the changes we want/need in due time.
